There was a meet­ing in Lay­tonville yes­ter­day to pro­vide the com­mu­nity with infor­ma­tion about the Lodge Com­plex fires The fire has burned 3,400 acres. There are 966 peo­ple assigned to the fire. The esti­mated costs to date for fire­fight­ing have reached $3.9 million.

Air qual­ity in inland Men­do­cino County remains “mod­er­ate;” caused by the Lodge Light­ning Com­plex fires. Which means there may be a mod­er­ate health con­cern for a small num­ber of peo­ple who are unusu­ally sen­si­tive to air pol­lu­tion. Peo­ple with res­pi­ra­tory or heart dis­ease, the elderly and chil­dren are most at risk. Unusu­ally sen­si­tive peo­ple should con­sider reduc­ing pro­longed or heavy exertion.
