Structures Destroyed in Upper Lake Fire

A home and an out­build­ing were destroyed and another out­build­ing was dam­aged in a fire early yes­ter­day morn­ing at 1431 W. High­way 20 in Upper Lake. Accord­ing to the Northshore Fire Pro­tec­tion Dis­trict Fire Chief, the struc­tures appeared to be aban­doned and no injuries were reported. The fire was reported just before 12:30 a.m.. Fire­fight­ers had it con­trolled in about an hour and a half, and were able to save one of the out­build­ings. Approx­i­mately 20 per­son­nel from the NFPD responded to the scene with two engines and one dozer. CAL FIRE assisted with a water ten­der and three engines while the Lake­port Fire Pro­tec­tion Dis­trict responded with two chiefs, a water ten­der and an engine. Inves­ti­ga­tors are look­ing into what caused the fire.
