Sports Highlights from the Record Bee

Rain cut their double header short last month – when Ferndale took the first game from Mendocino. Yesterday – the makeup game had no rain – just wind – at Mendocino High School. Ferndale won by two – 11-9.

Clear Lake’s varsity baseball team got an 8-1 win at Middletown.

The Kelseyville Knights beat the Lower Lake Trojans 8-3 in North Central League I varsity baseball.

In softball:

Lower Lake pitcher Shelbie Harris struck out a career-high 17 batters as the Trojans beat the Kelseyville Knights 9-5. Lower Lake is 8-3 in league and 16-5 overall.

Clear Lake got a 14-0 win over Middletown. Their pitcher, Rene Edwards had to go to the hospital after getting hit hard in the knuckle by a line drive. She’s fine, and amazingly pitched a whole inning after getting hit before the pain forced her to stop.

Point Arena High School is hosting their First-Ever Track Meet today from 3-6 pm – And volunteers are needed! 6 5-70 students from Fort Bragg, Mendocino and Point Arena High Schools will be competing. Admission is free. BBQ is being provided by Leslie Bates of Savory Coast Catering. If you can lend a hand today, Call coach Mark Mason at 684-0461.
