Sports Highlights from the Record Bee

Rain cut their double header short last month — when Ferndale took the first game from Mendocino. Yesterday — the makeup game had no rain — just wind — at Mendocino High School. Ferndale won by two — 11–9.

Clear Lake’s varsity baseball team got an 8–1 win at Middletown.

The Kelseyville Knights beat the Lower Lake Trojans 8–3 in North Central League I varsity baseball.

In softball:

Lower Lake pitcher Shelbie Harris struck out a career-high 17 batters as the Trojans beat the Kelseyville Knights 9–5. Lower Lake is 8–3 in league and 16–5 overall.

Clear Lake got a 14–0 win over Middletown. Their pitcher, Rene Edwards had to go to the hospital after getting hit hard in the knuckle by a line drive. She’s fine, and amazingly pitched a whole inning after getting hit before the pain forced her to stop.
