Man Sentenced for 2000 Murder

It took a long time for jus­tice to be served, but it was on Fri­day in Men­do­cino County Supe­rior Court. Jared Her­nan­dez, who beat his neigh­bor to death with a base­ball bat and fled to Mex­ico more than 13 years ago was sen­tended to 32 years to life in prison for his crime. Her­nan­dez was arrested in Mex­ico and sent back to the U.S. last year to face charges in the arson and death of Michael Williamson. The crime hap­pened back in the year 2000.
