Mendocino County Toys for Tots is still taking requests for children who need toys before the Dec. 21 distribution. They are also still taking donations. Coordinator Tracy Sutherland says donations have been slow this year of both toy and cash donations. She thinks it could be due to the June death of Marvin Fuller, who coordinated the Mendocino County chapter of Toys for Tots for nearly 25 years before she took over this year. She thinks some might not have thought the effort would continue without him. Struggling families can still sign up their children through Wednesday. Anyone interested in making a cash donation or volunteering to help are encouraged to call Tracy Sutherland.
